Mitzi on…My Lovely Sam-soon Episode 11

Er, after watching a little more of Episode 11, I realize I may have forgotten more of episode 10 than I realized…but no time to go back!  the challenge is on!

Wow, this episode had a whole lot of moments that had me saying things like, “oh hell no!”  and, “What. The. Hell.”

Cast:

  • Kim Suna as Kim Sam-soon
  • Hyun Bin as Hyun Jin-heon
  • Jeong Ryeo-won as Yoo Hee-jin
  • Daniel Henney as Dr. Henry Kim (Dr. Hotpants)
  • Kim Ja Ok as Park Bong-Sook – Sam-soon’s mom
  • Lee Ah-hyun as Kim Yi-Young – Sam-soon’s sister
  • Na Moon-hee as Na Hyun-Sook – Jin-heon’s mom
  • Suh Ji Hee as Hyun Mi-joo – Jin-heon’s niece
  • Yoon Ye-hee as Yoon Hyun-sook – Jin-heon’s “aunt”
  • Lee Kyu-han as Min Hyun-woo – Sam-soon’s ex
  • Lee Yoon-mi as Jang Chae-Ri

Episode starts out with Jin-heon taking Sam-soon home from the blind date that he dragged her away from.  They run into her ex, Hyun-woo.  Hyun-woo and Jin-heon get into a fight.  I guess this would be the fight similar to the famous fight between Colin Firth and Hugh Grant in Bridget Jones Diary, however it wasn’t nearly as entertaining.  (awkward kicks!  Where were the awkward kicks?!  And trash can lids?!)

However, Sam-soon breaks up the fight and tells Jin-heon to get lost. He looks hurt but leaves.  Hyun-woo looks happy because it seems Sam-soon is chosing him over her.  (Whoever thinks they  just won the girl, take a step forward…not so fast, Hyun-woo)  Sam-soon then tells him to get lost too.

Sam-soon then has trouble falling asleep because for the first time in her life, two guys are fighting over her.  #firstworldproblems

Then, in another scene reminiscent of Bridget Jone’s Diary, Sam-soon goes on a quest to improve herself and starts working out with her sister and eating a low carb/high protein diet.  This works for all of 12 hours before she’s raiding the fridge at midnight. (been there, done that)

Jin-heon, still butt hurt over Sam-soon telling him to get lost AND because he’s in ‘the luvs’ with her (secretly) calls her over to pick up her bike (from the ultra classy scooter accident in episode 8) that’s been taking up room in his apartment.  She reluctantly heads over to pick it up.  When she arrives she asks him if he’s ridden the bike. He says no (LIAR!)  But obviously he did because the tires are flat.  He’s got to take her and the bike home in his car.

In the car, the conversation turns down a road with danger signs all over it.  They discuss their relationship…or lack there of.  THEN Hee-hin calls Jin-heon phone…and he ignores it.  Sam-soon guilts him into answering it because he should, Hee-jin is his girlfriend after all.  The conversation between the couple is awkward, forced and filled with lies (Jin-heon tells her he’s alone) and after Sam-soon screams due to a near accident, Hee-jin also knows he’s lying to her.

Mega pissed, Jin-heon pulls over and forces Sam-soon out of the car. (What. The. Hell.  She didn’t do anything wrong.  The bad is all on him!)  He will take her no further.  Sam-soon can tell that something is going on with him.  No guy acts like that if he hasn’t been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.  She asks him if he likes her.

His response: Didn’t I say this to you before? Who would like to hold a person like yourself? (which is just Korean for, “I want you to punch me in the face”)

Her response: You’re not my type also. You wanna know why? Because you can’t be honest. (Which is Korean for, “I won’t give you the satisfaction of punching you in the face because then I’d get the stench of ‘lying jerkwad’ all over fist.”)

Jin-heon then turns to leave but before doing so, he quickly runs to Sam-soon’s bicycle and kicks it over.  The maturity is strong in this one.

Fast forward a few days, Sam-soon is sick with stomach pains (more toilet humor!) and is home writhing on the floor when her doorbell suddenly rings.  It’s her ex, Hyun-woo!  He says they should officially end it, but that they need to go somewhere special.  She, stupidly, goes along with this still dressed in PJ’s.  (I’m hoping out of boredom)

And *gasp* he takes her to the hotel where she discovered his affair!  ESCANDALO!

While waiting for the elevator to take them to the bar, imagine the series of events that occurred behind the scenes that caused Jin-heon to magically appear right next to them, waiting for the same elevator!  COINCIDENCE!

Jin-heon seems butt hurt though. He says he won’t join Hyun-woo and Sam-soon for drinks because Sam-soon is untrustworthy since she confessed she liked someone else but is out late at night with her ex.  HYPOCRITE!

The elevator door opens, Jin-heon leaves.  Hyun-woo and Sam-soon continue with their ‘official break up’ which ends up being more of a marriage proposal that Sam-soon turns down.  Well actually, she calls Hyun-woo on his bluff.  She said she would accept his ring only if he broke it off with Chae-ri right then and there.  He fails to do so and …what the hell is this?  Jin-heon is now in the bar?  He’s defending Sam-soon?!  HE’S CALLING HER HIS WOMAN!!!!  And he’s dragging her away from Hyun-woo.

They end up in the same mens restroom where they first met last Christmas and he confesses his ‘like’ for her.  Actually he scream’s it, but that’s alright because love is also frightening and confusing.  Just as Sam-soon is about to pull some, “Boy, you are crazy!” phrases out of her bag, Jin-heon forcibly grabs her and kisses her.

And then we all swoon.

The End.

The guys in the background peeing really add to the romance.

Don’t you love it when a man forces himself upon you and tells you he ‘likes’ you?  meow!
